I really liked our offensive effort except for the fact that CAP still has butter fingers. On defense, I thought we played well overall with a couple of INTs and lots of great DE play from Lawson, Ford, etc. We still gave up way to many big plays though. All that matters is we won! WDE!!!
Exciting win but we had a lot of opportunities to put them away and didn’t…that needs to be fixed going forward. We have a lot of guys hurt…our LB depth will be sorely tested now. BUT for tonight, 282 yards rushing with Nick Marshall getting 140 himself. And he only had one missed opportunity to Fulse and one other near. Pick 6. And speaking of pick 6′s….how big was Robenson Therieze? Talk about what a difference a year makes…..look how our DBs are playing now v. 2012. Wow.
Enough commentary on AU….my Pick Em blew chunks. :(
What a difference a year makes!!! There is hunger and intensity on these kids’ faces and I love it! D made some great stands tonight, and some big plays. I think if Marshall hadn’t been injured, we’d have had probably two more TDs. It was fun watching him go, grasping the O that Gus wants and running with it.
There’s a lot of room for improvement, but they are going forward each game instead of backwards. And I just get all happy and giggly when I see Kodi on the sidelines pumping up the players and giving them advice.
Well that was fun. We hit the magic number (30 points) and kept the streak alive. We lived in their offensive backfield all night. Our D-line is going to be something special. And how about Anthony Swain coming in and leading the team in tackles after Cassanova got hurt? Glad to see Mckinzy back on the sideline in the 2nd half. Offense still has some details to work out (not sure why we tried throwing the ball so much on our second and third drive after doing so well on the first drive running), but overall a great game. I’m really beginning to think this is a team that can play with anyone. We got some rest with the bye week last week and we’ll get some more rest with the WCU game this weekend. We’re going to need it going in to the aTm game. It’s a good feeling to feel like we have a shot every time we step on the field, again!
Thomas, I’ve been looking too but all I could find was a subscription plan that included radio of all college games instead of just Auburn. The cost was ridiculously high. If I wanted to listen to a dozen different teams, it might be ok but for one game a week, they’ve priced themselves out of the market. If you find something reasonable, please post it here.
Factoid about the Ole Miss game: This was the first week in which we played a school without “State” in their name.
It has been a while since I have been to the sight. One thing that I noticed about this year’s team is that there is no quit in them. The coaching staff really has the players believing again in themselves and that they have the ability to win each and every game-something that Chizik and his staff lost last year. I want to say that our tackilng on defense has vastly improved-yes we still give up some big plays but hey we gave up big plays in 2010, but our defense made the stops when it counted and when they were needed.
As for the game-we kinda mailed it in in the 4th quarter and need to shore it up and put teams away when we have the chance. We have two scrimmage games against FAU and West Carolina, but I hope that we can pull off an upset in College Station. As always WAR DAMN EAGLE
Thomas / Jason…Auburn offers a radio plan ($79 / yr.) that gives you online streaming access to the Auburn IMG radio feed over the internet. I’ve never done it, and don’t know anybody who has…so don’t hold me to it if it sucks. But i’m pretty sure that is only the AU games and not a bunch of other teams. Plus, I think you get Tiger Talk and all that jazz as well. $79 is not cheap, but it’s pretty much the cost of one ticket for one game…so it may be worth it if it actually works.
My favorite thing about the game was the D-Line and the pressure we were getting. It has been so long since we’ve had a defense who continually made big sacks and stops on 3rd or 4th down. I love that almost as much as scoring a touchdown.
MCT I would post a video of me doing anything short of a misdemeanor if Auburn beat uat this year. I would even open the floor to the Auburner family on what you’d like to see me post (everyone but matt….he’d want me to do some unspeakable act in a Bama jersey). lol
I understand the preseason apprehension to vote the mighty War Eagle into the Top 25…. but now, whats the hold up? Are we to seriously believe that Okie State is a better team than us or could handle us head-to-head? Heck, tbh I see us giving A&M more than they can handle if we show up and play our game. But what should I expect from the people who had USC #1 preseason last year but cant find it in them to get an undefeated UCLA into this seasons Top 10……..
