I didn’t get to watch it, but I hear JJ was quite impressive. Offense was clicking on all cylinders and a new school record for total yardage! Granted we were playing an absolute horrendous fb team, but still…..
Glad we got to get a lot of youngsters some playing time. I’m a little concerned with Patrick Miller and Brandon Fulse missing the game due to “off the field” issues. I hope it’s not anything serious.
All in all, just what we need heading into aTm week! WDE!!!
Great game. Johnson looked fantastic. Granted, it was against a horrible team, but he was making GREAT throws. I think he’ll win the starting job next year with ease. And how amazing is Rudy Ford? Played iron man for three series, including getting a long TD run. Always fun to look that good. This is a team I can see beating anyone they play if they play to their potential.
Spencer don’t feel too bad, most of our pick’ems are screwed today. I want to see how we play against A&M next week. At the beginning of the season I was thinking there is no way, but after watching the first have of Ole Miss and A&M I think there is a legitimate shot.
Walt….you accurately predicted JJ would be the starter while I scoffed. Thus, I deemed you a wizard. :)
After seeing UGA struggle v. UT last week and lose going away to Mizzou in Athens, I have renewed hopes of pulling that one out. TAMU has a fabulous offense but clearly will give up points on D. It’s a mystery to no one that we will simply have to outscore them.
Enough from me. Time to lick my Pick Em wounds…..which are major lacerations. :(
This was a glorified practice in some respects so I hope the O-line and receivers utilize it to prepare for running the true no huddle. Running that offense with precision gives us our best chance in the SEC for sure.
We’re back in the Top 25! Ranked #24 in the AP Poll. We’re definitely going to have to outscore aTm. We’ll be able to run the football on them. The true test will be trying to contain and stop Manziel on a few drives. If Ole Miss could do it, I think we can get it done. I’m going to have to find a good Auburn alumni bar in DC to watch that game, since I’m going to be up there for the Army 10 Miler, Sunday morning.
After the Akbear/A&M game, I’m feeling better. I am feeling bad that I’ll be in Missouri in the middle of NO WHERE and won’t be able to watch the game. :( but I will enjoy wearing my Auburn gear and seeing the response of the Mizzou fans!
Tdog…..feeling your pain. I’ll be @ Six Flags with my whole crew. Chances of getting a glimpse of AU/TAMU – nil. I do feel better about our chances after Saturday’s Ole Siss / TAMU game. I’m not in the “cautiously optimistic” level yet but considering how much of a no-brainer lock this appeared to be for TAMU at the beginning of the season to now expected to be a competitive game…that shows you how far we’ve come. Clearly ahead of schedule. :)
I wonder if Johnny F is limping from his knee tweak last Sat. That would help. That guys is impossible when he is full speed. I am like everyone else, had accepted this game as a loss in August, but now….can you say UPSET ALERT ?
First tackle is going to be cruical on every play. If we have a lot of miss-tackles (our bane last year) then its going to be a long night. Have seen a lot of improvements in that section in this year. But I think we will surprise the world this weekend.
Brandon Cox (2007),
Kodi Burns (2008),
Chris Todd (2009),
Cam Newton (2010),
Barrett Trotter (2011),
Clint Moseley (2011),
Kiehl Frazier (2012),
Jonathan Wallace (2012),
Nick Marshall (2013),
Jeremy Johnson (2013).
Hopefully we are done with QB carousel for 2-3 years now.
JC…. I accepted NO defeat and until someone beats us, I never will! I been saying this squad has a potential to be a 10 win team since Spring ball. I know yall are loyal to the heart as well, but theres gotta be at least one of us that predicts an AU win EVERY GAME!
Like the song says:
“Somewhere there should be,
for all the world to see,
a statute of a fool made of stone………..
NAAAAMMMEE IIT AFFFTEEERRR MEEEEE”
lolz and much respect to all the supporters here at The Auburner!
I’ll be in DC, but I’m planning on finding the Alumni bar in town. I’ll be watching the game somehow, someway. And then getting up to run 10 miles Sunday morning. So I’m definitely glad this is an afternoon game.
Earlier I wasn’t sure if we could beat A&M. I was sure that we could keep within the 12.5 point spread but wasn’t sure about victory. Then I saw this article about a golden eagle that felt a little peckish so it killed a deer for a snack:
With Nova and Tiger on our side, TAMU doesn’t stand a chance. Interesting thing too is that camera that caught the golden eagle attacking the deer was set up to look for tigers. Guess they didn’t know about Auburn where they’re a package deal.
JC Mac, a lot of teams and media have no respect. I was watching the 30 minute ESPN college show last night and they were asking Finebum about 8 teams from the SEC being in top 25 and he essentially said it won’t last, after AU loses to A&M Sat, it will be going down….they need to make that bulletin board stuff for Sat !
Man, he needs to stay inside on a breezy day….those ears could be dangerous for him…ok, inside voice Jim !
Looking at the aTm boards, they are so delusional. They are totally looking over us, which would be nice if it was their football team, instead of the fans. According to them we are one-dimensional, horrendous on defense and do not even stand a chance Saturday. We must win now.
