Outback Bowl: Tennessee vs. Penn State
Joe Pa will give his classic blank stare from the sidelines as Tennessee makes the most out of the one day of the year that I don’t hate them. Tennessee QB Eric Ainge will do what he does best and attempt to blow another big game. Phillip Fulmer will make a few halftime changes after he realizes that his pact with Satan is completely void for bowl games (he forgot to read the small print!). Much to my delight, Senior Tennessee QB Jim Bob Cooter will come in and overcome the potent Penn State defense by printing his full name on both the front and the back of his jersey, using the power of laughter to weaken the nation’s 12th best defense. Tennessee comes back to win 21-18.

AT&T Cotton Bowl: Auburn vs. Nebraska
This is a scary game for Auburn. Here’s why:
1) The game is in Dallas, which is Big XII Territory, giving Nebraska a slight home field advantage.
2) Auburn linebackers Tray Blackmon and Kevin Sears are suspended again, along with Brad Lester. Well there goes our interior linebackers and half our running game.
3) This game is in the morning. How did we do in our last two morning games? Arkansas 27 - Auburn 10 and Georgia 37 – Auburn 15.
4) Brandon Cox was cold as ICE last year against Wisconsin. Hopefully this isn’t a trend.
5) Auburn loves to under appreciate underrated teams this year.
6) A “handful” of players have come down with the flu.

Here’s why Auburn is still going to win:
1) Kenny Irons and Brandon Cox should finally be healthy. Kenny’s toe/ankle/knee should be in good shape, Brandon’s bum leg should no longer be completely brown and purple.
2) The SEC is a menace this season. The Big XII isn’t nearly as competitive at the SEC this year. Auburn has done more in bigger games this season than Nebraska has in the past 4 years. Auburn knows how to win.
3) Auburn struggles mostly against running teams, thankfully Nebraska likes to pass the ball.
4) All the bowl teams that Nebraska has beaten have lost their bowl game. Kansas State, Missouri, and Texas A&M all lost.
5) Auburn is out to make a point after last year’s letdown against Wisconsin.

This is going to be a thriller. I’m already scared and this game will not be settled until the final minutes of the game. Look for clutch plays from Eric Brock and Will Herring to lead the Auburn Tigers to a classic 12-10 defensive win.

Toyota Gator Bowl: West Virginia vs. Georgia Tech
Seeing how Georgia Tech only plays well against Auburn, and seeing how West Virginia is not Auburn, West Virginia should take this game pretty easily. Georgia Tech will utilize the nation’s best receiver, Calvin Johnson, to keep this game close, but West Virginia has too much speed even without Slaton to be caught by the Yellow Jackets. The Big East will take advantage of having every single one of their bowl games against lower ranked opponents and improve their conference bowl record. West Virginia 37-GT 21.

Capital One Bowl: Arkansas vs. Wisconsin
Congratulations to Wisconsin for losing to Michigan by only two touchdowns. If that isn’t enough to warrant a #6 AP ranking, maybe impressive wins over such teams as Iowa, Penn State, Minnesota and Purdue will impress the pollsters (0-3 in bowls so far). Arkansas on the other hand has beaten Alabama, Auburn, Tennessee and South Carolina (1-1 so far, the others are too good to play before new years). You can never count Arkansas out of a game because they have the best rushing game in the nation, along with the fact that Houston Nutt will throw together at least 4 trick plays before the clock shows 0:00. The game will also only be about an hour and a half long considering both teams will run it down each others throats all night. Arkansas will come through with a huge upset after Houston Nutt assembles the greatest “Fumbleruski” ever in a 23-21 win.

Rose Bowl: USC vs. Michigan
Holy Cow Michigan is going to be upset going into this game. USC hasn’t faced a team like Michigan all season and it will show. USC will get a few points in, but not nearly enough to cover half the points that Michigan is going to score. Michigan makes a BCS defying statement in a 41-17 win over USC.

Tostitos Fiesta Bowl: Boise State vs. Oklahoma
This should have been another BCS defying game. This game is proof enough that there should not be conference tie-ins to the biggest bowls. Sadly, Oklahoma is not good enough this year to put Boise State in its place like they should be. Don’t be surprised when Boise State shows up against the only other BCS Bowl team bad enough to lose to the Broncos. Luckily for Oklahoma, they will finally get back their star runningback Adrian Peterson in what he is hoping to be his final showcase for NFL Scouts. It’ll be a close one, but Oklahoma will come out with a 29-25 win.

FedEx Orange Bowl: Louisville vs. Wake Forest
The Big East will have the last laugh over the ACC as the ‘Ville goes deep on every single play, scoring on a majority of them. The ACC looks terrible in this 48-10 loss.

Allstate Sugar Bowl: LSU vs. Notre Dame
LSU is the hottest team in the country. I would pick LSU to beat Florida if they were to play each other this week. LSU has gotten over their sloppiness and is running on all cylinders. JaMarcus Russell deserves to be a first round draft pick this offseason and will show up Brady Quinn big time on a national stage. Notre Dame on the other hand has lost their last 8 bowl games. It would be better for Notre Dame if people would quit giving them the benefit of the doubt every year and not set the Irish up for failure year after year. LSU will score until they are bored from it, and Notre Dame will hardly be able to put a dent in one of the nation’s best defenses. LSU clobbers the Irish 41-6.

International Bowl: Western Michigan vs. Cincinatti
Why is this game wedged in between BCS bowls? My prediction: the best nap of my life.

GMAC Bowl: Ohio vs. Southern Miss

BCS Championship Game: Florida vs. Ohio State
I have been looking for the entire season for a kink in Ohio State’s armor. Troy Smith is brilliant. Antonio Pittman is one of the most underrated halfbacks in the nation. They haven’t really even looked shaky against any of their opponents this season. Florida on the other hand is accident prone and never really able to put together a complete game. Florida’s special teams are probably the worst in the nation, which is more or less a testament to their talent on offense and defense. This game, however, will be nowhere near a blowout. Florida has only lost one game in what is by far the most difficult schedule in college football. Florida has faced 5, count ‘em (Auburn, Tennessee, Arkansas, Georgia, LSU, I’m not even going to count Florida State who was #9 in week 2), 5 teams that were in the top 10 at some point. That is ridiculous. Ohio State can rest their entire season on two wins, Texas and Michigan… which is by no means shabby. But I still believe that Florida is more battle tested than Ohio State and will give the Buckeyes a much greater challenge than they are expecting. I will even go on to say that if Florida limits their mistakes to only a small few, they will WIN this game. But that won’t happen; Chris Leak will make one or two costly mistakes that will likely cost him the game. The BCS Championship will not disappoint in a classic 24-21 win for Ohio State.

Happy New Year and War Eagle!
